Everyday participation
Music, local news, language, clubs, stories, and ordinary conversation come first. People can follow places and topics or join moderated spaces. A community should be able to use Strata with AI switched off.
Strata is an independent community platform for everyday conversation, shared knowledge, and public work. Communities can run their own space, with optional connections to other instances and to Aksara.

Knowledge pages connect places, histories, languages, ecological observations, papers, and datasets. Sources, different accounts, corrections, and revision history stay available. Contributors propose changes; community stewards review them.
Strata is designed for separately administered instances, each with its own members, moderation, storage, and policies. Supported social federation uses ActivityPub. A regional page or tag does not require a separate deployment.
Communities can share projects, reports, events, and approved research artifacts alongside discussion. An Aksara integration can prepare material for review and publication. Private memory and credentials remain inside the originating system.
Ruara carries the Papuan context. Strata itself is intended to be reusable by other communities, with their own languages, place names, governance, and optional modules.
Ruara is our first deployment study: a shared public square with community-governed language spaces. Its local context belongs in the deployment, while Strata remains reusable by other communities.
